Investiture For AMLSN New President And Executives December 12, 2014

Official Investiture For AMLSN President, Toyosi Raheem
The new president of AMLSN alhaji Toyosi Raheem will be decorated at investiture ceremony on
December 12 as the 12th AMLSN president. The day has also been set aside for the expanded national executive council meeting in Abuja.
The new executives are:
President: Alj. Toyosi Raheem

Secretary: Mr. Suraj Junaid

1st V.P.: Mr. Uche Odionyenma

2nd V.P. Prince Ashi Roberts

Asst. Secretary: Mr. Soji Bilyrose

Treasurer: Mr. Kayode Salako

Financial Secretary: Dr. Felix Emelike


Auditor: Mallam Muktar Yeldu

ICPC Interacts With AMLSN On Code Of Ethics

The Independent and Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) recently organized an interactive sessions with regulatory agencies and healthcare associations in Abuja the capital city of Nigeria to get the input of stakeholders in a widely acclaimed positive step at promoting ethics and good professional practices.
Participants from the Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria was led by the national president, Alj. Toyosi Raheem.



Book Launch! Evolution Of Medical Laboratory Science In Nigeria
The history and beginning of the Medical Laboratory Profession in Nigeria was recently showcased in a book titled 'The Evolution Of Medical Laboratory Science in Nigeria' edited by Prof. Dennis Agbonlahor, a former V.C. and former president of the Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria. The book which was launch at the AGM held in Akure rightly situates the authentic history of the profession to give the present and future generation a well researched bibliography of
the profession and the people who laboured to make it highly competitive in Nigeria.


Strike Paralyses Health Sector
As the strike declared by JOHESU enters its fourth week, reports all over the nation reveal a total paralyses of healthcare activities in Federal Teaching institutions and Medical Centres.
JOHESU had accused the government of insincerity and double standard in attending to her demands which has been on the table since 2010.

AMLSN Loses De Determinant To NACA
How time flies and things change!  The widely heard radio broadcast-De Determinant powered by the Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria has been lost to another sponsor in a clandestine situation which remain unacceptable to majority of members.
It was announced recently that the National Aids Control Agency (NACA) has taken over the sponsorship of the program birth by AMLSN and so christened.  Hope this will not snowball into copyright war? Time shall tell.

Farewell Dr. Olabode

Days after the AGM, held at Akure, the news of the sudden death of Dr. Olabode hit the waves.
The sad news attracted sympathizers and passersby who wondered why the erudite scholar should be
taken away so soon.  He was one of the presidential candidates at the just concluded elections.
A  valedictory session has been announced for him come December 18, 2014.












ETUKUDOH Bags PhD
The Director of Medical Laboratory Services in the ministry of health, Obong Sunday Etukudoh has bagged a PhD award at the University of Ibadan.  He joined scores of other graduands at a recent convocation of the university. Congrats to the chief.
