President Jonathan Orders Privatization Of Medical Laboratories

Bombshell As Aso Rock Orders Privatization Of Medical Laboratories
Bad days seems not to be ending for the medical laboratory profession in Nigeria as
news from the grapevine reveals that the minister of health has been ordered to
privatize medical laboratories in Nigeria beginning from the University of Abuja
Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada.

Katsina To Host AMLSN Conference 2013
The Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria, Katsina State branch
has won the bid to host the 2013 annual general meeting and scientific conference.  In
the same vein, the Ondo State chapter has won the bid to host the 2014 conference.

On Specialist Allowance, FMOH Underrates Fellowship
The fellowship certificate of the medical laboratory council of Nigeria in not sufficient
to earn medical laboratory scientists specialist allowance in Nigeria by the ministry of health.
According to our sources, the West African Fellowship award is the preference to qualify for
such financial benefit. In essence, medical laboratory scientists will need to wait longer to
enjoy this benefit.

Alhaji Raheed Commends Administrators Of AllMedLab Forum
Alhaji Toyosi Raheem, a vice president of the association of medical laboratory scientists of Nigeria
has commended the administrators of the allmedlab forum for the live commentaries of the EDO2012 conference which held in Benin the penultimate weekend.

  1. President Jonathan should be informed that the professional subjugation of Medical Lab scientists by Medical doctors have been an age-long issue. I strongly believe that medical profession din not originate from Nigeria. Hence we do not need committees or subcommittees to fashion the way forward. We have good and better examples to follow from the developed world like America and UK. Health care system in Nigeria need better attention not politicking.
