Okara, MLS Elders Visits Head Of Service On Scheme Of Service
Moved by the continued pressure and general discontent by members of the Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists Of Nigeria, the President of the body, Dr. G.C. Okara has led a delegation of
foremost elders of the profession in Nigeria on a courtesy visit to the head of service, Alh. Salli Bello where
the head of service was urged to release the circular directing proper placement of intern medical laboratory
scientists on grade level 9 currently enjoyed by their colleagues in Pharmacy, Radiology and Physiotherapy
This move which enjoyed wide commendation is expected to yield positive response from the head of service but nobody knows how soon that will be as the head of service is due for retirement in March ,2013 .

Health Minister Summons Emeribe On Graduate Internship
The minister of health Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu through the Deputy Director, MLS in the ministry
of health has summoned the registrar of the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria, Prof. Tony Emeribe to explore ways of reversing Council's policy which puts an end to graduate internship in medical laboratory science in Nigeria.  The minister in the said letter alluded the negative impact the policy is having on the Norther part of Nigeria as the reason for the summon.

The minister of health in Nigeria, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu in a panicky move has quickly constituted the Governing Boards of Tertiary Health Institutions in Nigeria following sustained protest by health unions since December, 2013.  The Joint Health Sector Unions had accused the minister of partisanship and had made the reconstitution of boards of Health Institutions as one of their demands in recent times.  But this single action has not placated the unions who embarked on another nationwide rally on January 23rd, 2013.

184th ENEC Meeting Holds In Nasarawa
The Expanded National Executive Council meeting of the Associaiton of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria comes up in Nasarawa State from February 21st to 23rd.  This release was made by Mr. Dudu Olabode, the PRO of the Association.
