Dr Jeremiah Awortu Joins FRCPath League-Opens More Doors To Young Medical Laboratory Scientists
First it was Prof. Agbonlahor who braised the trail and bagged the Fellow Royal College of Pathologist, U.K. award
as a Nigerian MLS.  Now, another scholar and MLS, Dr. Jeremiah Awortu of the Niger Delta University has joined the
club of FRCPath  awardees.  This has shown that MLS can hold their head anywhere and compete with intellectuals all
over the world if given a level playing ground.  By this singular feat, Dr. Awortu has opened the door for more yound MLS
to see possibilities and aspire to achieve same or greater feat in the future.

'If You Make Medical Laboratory Scientists Directors Then Be Ready To Make Doctors Super Directors'-NMA President
The real reason why medical doctors has been antagonising the rise of MLS to thie post
of director has been revealed in a recent interview done by Dr. Enabule, NMA President
in a national newspaper.
Selfishness and greed is the real reason.  The NMA President claimed that making MLS
directors will mean making doctors super directors.
But the question is 'does doctors have any scheme of service which dictates a career
path in that line?' Your guess is as good as mine.

'Is Pathcare, Union Diagnostics Greater Than The Medical Laboratory Council?'-Hameed Ojokuku
Pathcare and Union diagnostics owned by medics seems to be having their way in Nigeria thus undermining
the effort and functions of the MLSCN.  This absurdity is the issue of great concern to a young MLS,Hameed Ojukuku
who rhetorically asked whether these outfits are more powerful than the MLSCN.
Reports from the grave vine reveals subtle plans to break the backbone of these diagnostic outfits and put them
under the purview of the MLSCN. How? That's still a secret kept close to the chest by AMLSN/MLSCN strategists.

Jubilation As Ondo AMLSN Frustrates Attempt To Privatise Labs/Radiological Services
From the blue moon, pathcare and union diagnostics moved boldly to commence PPP in Ondo to undermine medical laboratory practice
and give pathologists the upper hand but the AMLSN leadership in Ondo State will never allow that to happen.
Rapid response to quel the move was made by the leadership of unions who quickly formed JOHESU, a potent weapon any government
will bow to.  For the Ondo State government, it wasn't a different scenario as JOHESU got the government to back out of the
plans. In the mean time, all branches has been put on alert to watch out for a repeat of the Ondo saga.
