'Give Us The Financial Empowerment To Deliver'-G.C. Okara
The President of the Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria (AMLSN), Dr. G.C. Okara has called on members to give the necessary financial support to his leadership in order to deliver the goods. He further warned that time is of essence and any further delay in starving the leadership of funds could spell doom as the adversaries are spending more to truncate the progress of members.
In his own words, he submitted that ' we know what to do to achieve our goals and meet members' demands'.


Coast Clear For N6,000 AMLSN Dues Starting 2012

The coast seem finally clear for the payment of six thousand naira Association dues by Medical Laboratory Scientists in Nigeria from January 2012. This indication came from the post initiated by the Chief Admin of the forum, Mr. Oni Nelson who didn't see any reason for an astronomic increase in the dues from 2,000 to 6,000. The comments for or against was torrential as members expressed their opinions freely. However, the most impressive dimension was the personal participation of the president of AMLSN, Dr. G.G. Okara who challenged members to brace up to make the financial sacrifice to realise the demands they are making on the leadership who are ready to brace the trail and deliver.
Members were very impressed with the contributions of Dr. Bassey Enya, a contestant for the post of president at the last election. He made suggestions on useful ways to improve the finances of the Association aside harping on the need to follow constitutional provisions in effecting any increament in due. Generally, members accepted the necessity to make financial sacrifice and pay the dues starting form January 2012.


Goodies Await MLS Who Pay Association Dues
The National auditor, Dr. Felix Emenike has urged Medical Laboratory Scientists who pay the prescribed dues in 2012 to fill a register at the Medical Laboratory Science Council (MLSCN) office for special bonus packages yet to be revealed. Members certainly need creative benefits for paying. But what are they? Fingers crossed till 2012.


Scheme Of Service Almost Ready-G.C. Okara
It has been authoritatively revealed that the expected brand new scheme of service which will enhance the status and take home package of Medical Laboratory Scientist will be ready soon as a memo for its circulation has been sent to the Presidency by the Head of Service of the Federation. This was revealed by the President of AMLSN, Dr. G.C. Okara.


Bassey Endorses Upward Review Of Dues, Harps On Constitutional Adherence
An endorsement for the upward review of the annual dues payable to the Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists Of Nigeria (AMLSN) was given during the week by Dr. Bassey Enya. According to him, 'Upward review of dues is overdue' but he cautioned the current leadership to follow constitutional provisions in effecting the increament.


USAID Visit AMLSN Secretariat, Scores Body High
Officials from USAID visited the national secretariat of AMLSN recently as revealed by the 1st Vice President, Alh. Toyosi Raheem. He reported that the leaders were commended for giving the members a non-remunerating service for the progress of the Association and profession in Nigeria. The visit was on the planned collaborative e-CPD between AMLSN/MLSNC and USAID.

Medical Laboratory Science Conference Holds In Dubai
A medical laboratory science conference is billed for the oil city of Dubai come January 23-26, 2012. This information was given by the Chief Admin of the forum, Mr. Oni Nelson.

The post was academic and challenging but members responded positively to show that the forum is not all for politics.
